Dr. Poornima’s Luminous skin & hair clinic

Okay, this is my review of the whole experience I've had in this clinic since April 2024. I visited this place after giving up on my skin condition as I was geniusly treating it myself🙄,. It was a downhill. I merely googled it and had no hopes for myself (very cliche, I know) but I thought of it as a last try. Anyway, the 1st time I visited, I was hesitant and called before just to make sure the doctor isn't one of those who just looks at my face, asks about my habits and just write a prescription or push expensive procedures. The assistant assured me, that it was not the case. The 1st visit took two hours in consultation and kind of made her late for a meeting but she finished with me anyway, so as I was clearing all my doubts, she heard me all along and explained and cleared my mind of the wrongs I was doing in my skincare, then further went on to explain the things I need to do and not to do. Gave me choices in the procedures I can opt for as my face was not in a good condition. As a 29 year old, I have never gone through any facials or high salon treatments. So she recommended me for Chemical peels. I was hesitant and also asked if I could just opt for creams and treat it that way, but I couldn't.. and she assured me that she'll start with mild and see how my skin reacts.. I went through it and it worked like a charm (not kidding) it's a slow process but I was happy with it. She or me, neither one of us were rushing into anything. I got approximately 6 peels done every 15 to 20 days and medication plus face creams were on as well. She also gave me choices in the topical creams that work almost the same but differ in price. Then I was recommended a carbon laser,. As my face was showing positive results, peel was just taking too long though it was effective, my skin was taking the treatment pretty good so she analysed that and recommended laser and I opted for it after some hesitancy. Was Kind of scared of the thought of it as it was very new to me, but Dr Poornima assured me and continued to assure me even while the procedure was on,. She's very good at that and it helps you calm down and have faith. So I got 2 sessions 1 month apart.. and I was impressed with the results.. genuinely. She was impressed with my progress as well.. I could see it as she checked and smiled along,.. As a brown skin girl 🤎, I love my skin tone, and I knew pigmentation was just covering the whole thing with dark patches and all of that just evend out and my face glows now. I just wanted clear skin, nothing fancy and got just that. I took too long to give out this review as I wanted to see this whole thing through. I felt good, safe and unbothered in this place. I would highly recommend it to anybody who needs a doctor who is literate, educated and is aware of what she's doing,. Seriously, after some years of practice some people lose the touch and feel of what they're doing and just turn into robots and fall into the routine of it. I really hope Dr Poornima doesn't lose her touch and continues to be humble, kind and attentive to all her patients,. I hope she continues to educate herself more and flourishes in her work. She definitely knows her stuff. The machines are of top notch, and well maintained. Hygiene is very well kept. The place is not huge but very well accommodating. The assistant (Nabila) is very good at her job too. She's amazing at the pre-procedure care as she cleanses it and makes sure your face is nice and clean before it starts. She is kind and attentive to the instructions given, and She's very well trained. All these years struggling with acne and pigmentation, seeing so many doctors and finally I have found my dermatologist, and I hope to get amazing treatments from her if and when I need them. Consulted the doctor for major acne breakout 4 months ago. My face is much cleaner at the moment. She recommended suitable treatment with alternatives for transparency regarding the time & sessions involved.

Dr. poornima is extremely helpful and excellent dermat. She cured my skin within a week. Also, they ask for updates and take ultimate care untill the patient is completely satisfied. I highly recommend this place.

Ear piercing of our 5 years old daughter was done by Dr Poornima.Before coming here I was worried about painful process of using Needle . We were surprised that Dr Poornima did the piercing with utmost ease and almost no pain felt by our daughter. No needle was used.We will highly recommend Dr Poornima for her caring behavior towards child, explaining the process, follow up and latest technique used . During the process high garde medicated steel stud was given. No infection happened after the process other than some red spot. Thanks Dr Poornima and her team. Highly recommended

BEST DERMATOLOGIST IN CHEMBUR Amazing experience, any skin problem you should try it. I consulted regarding acne issues which were persistent and not going away. It has been a good experience and my acne issue is almost resolved now, even scars have mostly faded with the treatment provided by the doctor. The only thing to keep in mind is that it will take time so keep following the instructions given.

I visited her regarding my hyper-pigmentation & acne concern. Even after multiple sessions of chemical peels for months there were very minute results. After spending so much money on treatments, creams recommended by her the results were no where upto expectations. Some of my appointments were cancelled last minute. Also I personally feel I was over-charged. There was one incident when I showed up for my session & the Dr. said she cannot attend me that moment because she has to leave for somewhere and still CHARGED me for a visit. Coming all the way down to chembur was a complete waste of time. I was getting treated here for the sheer desire to look good on my wedding day which was only made possible by switching this Dr. to another one who gave me results in just one session.

Dr. Poornima lacks empathy, punctuality, discipline and customer centric approach. She wasted 45 min of my time for her personal reasons and couldn't come up with a simple "sorry". This shows a big attitude problem!

Arrogant and psycho doctor 💊 "poornima" . I would like to share my horrifying experience about Doctor Poornima that I took an appointment with her on Sunday at five o'clock, and I went to her clinic .I went inside. And when I went inside, at the door, then suddenly she scolded me to take off shoes outside, and I got scared. I was quite scared, and I didn't know how to react, so after this embarrassing moment, I came out, feeling quite restless, and inside, Doctor Purnima was shouting at her assistant very loudly, and she had raised her voice quite high like an sick fellow.Struggling to keep my composure, I waited in the waiting area for my appointment, which was scheduled for five o'clock. Meanwhile, Doctor Poornima thought it necessary to attend someone else instead to me at 5 clock.When my patience reached its limit, I began to feel quite disappointed. That's when I decided it was best to leave, as this was completely unacceptable. It was a terrible experience for me, especially considering my appointment was at 5 o'clock, yet she felt it necessary to attend someone else instead attend of me.so this is how she treats new patients at her messy clinic.Our time as patients holds significance, and if they don't value that, then there's no reason for me to return to this clinic. So, I quietly left, and I've decided that I'll never come back to this clinic for any reason. My finding on her is she is highly indisciplined and not punctual and she carrying some psychotic syndrome symptoms so she needed to take sessions from psychologist before consulting to others.I hope time teaches her a lesson it's all about "karma".

If you don't want your skin to be recovered or you want to waste your time, you're at the right place. This doctor is a curse in disguise. I'll tell you my honest review. When I told her about my skin and hair probelms, she didn't even examined my skin and started yelling. She took my phone and followed her own Instagram I'd and gave herself a 5 star review without my knowledge.

We were referred to her for my brother's extremely dry and cracked palms and her treatment worked. My mum wondered if she can help me with my acne. The challenge was I lived far away for college and so we decided for video appointment. Bad decision. She charged 1000 rupees for 2 minute call. She'd call and talk very rudely and later would be like 'Im driving So I can't talk properly right now' Next time she said she was at a wedding. If you're a professional doctor and you've an appointment, you treat it seriously and not charge 1000 for just a 1-2 minute call! I do not think of her as a bad doctor because her treatment did improve my acne a bit but as a human? She's a disaster and has no compassion. My whitehead pimples just wouldn't go away so I told her 'There's improvement in my skin but why are these white pimples not clearing up?' And she replied furiously 'DEKH! Tereko ek baat samajh ni hogi Ye acne ka treatment itna jaldi nhi hota h Tu Kisi k bhi paas chale jaa M bohot saal se practice karrahi hu Mujhe pata h Agar chahiye to Kisi or k paas chaleja' Like damn All I asked is the reason why I'm still getting them after two months of treatment? Must you speak to me like that? There have been many other instances where she spoke to me very condescendingly. If you'd a good experience with her, that's amazing. I haven't been so lucky.

Worst doctor...she always want yearly contract in 6 months service amount..doesnt know to talk and always want free fund ka kaam..get some work ethics Madam.

Very low graded Dr just sitting to make money.
