"S R Gopal Rao and sons" has a really cool history. I am a big eyewear enthusiast and have a good collection of the same. Very recently I heard about them and decided to visit and was not disappointed. I placed a request for a specific model of Persol and even though the transit took longer than expected, I finally received the product in great condition. Got the lenses on them changed from the same store and this is how they look. A very pleasant experience overall. Wonderful staff members as well. Will be visiting again in future. 👍

I stepped into S R Gopal Rao for the first time to buy my first pair in 2016. But, just like this family run business my family has been loyal to their service since the 80s. I got a moment to share our family's journey with the third generation and was pleased to receive the same warmth as I received the first time I walked through their doors. The staff are so helpful and considerate to our needs. I have visited two of their stores with the NR ROAD being my dad's favourite and the Residency road one, mine. I can vouch for this place, that you will not be disappointed with their service and collection. They have their own affordable home brand to the stylishly pricey ones. I was really sad to hear the passing of their oldest employee who had sold me my first pair and coincidentally my father's too. Nevertheless, the present staff continues to strive excellence in their service just as the ones before them. The knowledge and advice given were absolutely brilliant. Contacted them for getting a tint lens made for my Oakley spectacle. Had a fabulous experience, right from clearing all my doubts(which I had a lot) to finally giving me the product I wanted to, the experience was just too good. It was an amazing experience, visiting the store and the Employees were really helping us to choose a better frame and glasses for me. It’s a really good place to visit and purchase. They are trustworthy.

Had a really good experience purchasing a new pair of glasses. The staff are super helpful and patient. They had no problem showing a lot of options and giving feedback on how the frames looked on my face. Within the first few options that was shown to me and based on my feedback , they quickly understood my taste. They really helped me find a frame that fits my face shape, suits my taste and falls within my price range. They were nice enough to take a picture and show me how the frames looked on me without making such a request . This was super helpful, because as someone who wears prescription glasses seeing the frames in the mirror without your lenses doesn't give the best idea of how the frames look on you. They also didn't force me to choose anything expensive unnecessarily when it came to lenses. As a first time customer they also offered a small discount. Compared to other retailers, apart from having a good collection of frames, their USP certainly is their customer service. Definitely going to be my go-to place for eyewear going forward.

Had the best experience at the store in purchasing eyeglasses. They have a wide range of frames available across various brands. Swathi and Ruth were very helpful and customer friendly. As mentioned in other reviews, they do not force the customer to get the business. Instead, they are thoroughly customer-focused and provide the best suggestions even if it means losing their business. Their professionalism will definitely make any customer go back to them. In June 2024, I went to the S.R. Gopal Rao on Residency Road (opposite Bishop Cotton Boys HS). Ruth, Swathi and Teena were wonderful. They gave me information on the products they offer and helped me find the frames with the features I was looking for. They were friendly and patient and made sure we got exactly what we were looking for. And extra bonus for providing this will a smile. I was able to pick up the glasses as scheduled and given a quick tutorial as I was new to progressives. Thank you ladies for the great customer serivce. I will be referring you to my family and friends.
