VSP Sir is the best amongst the medical professionals I have come across in my entire life and I feel very lucky to have got an opportunity to meet him. He is so much more than the 5* rating I could give here. 3 weeks back, my father was diagnosed with a severe heart condition (called Severe AS) and local Cardiologist advised Valve replacement surgery as the only way forward. We did not know about it in much detail and found reference of Dr. Satyajit (another great human being and a cardiologist), who advised us to consult VSP sir. We admitted, our father who was in a very weak health, by shifting him 250 km in an ambulance from my home town to Hyderabad. VSP sir and his great team stabilized my father in next few days and then performed TAVR (Transcatherer Aortic Valve Replacement) surgery on my father, on 29th Oct. The surgery was successful. Due to the complexity and my father’s weak health, VSP sir involved another famous TAVR surgeon as well, which demonstrates the high ethical standards and integrity. Post surgery, my father got a stroke and the team was ready to tackle this problem as well. They very closely worked with best Neurologists. They put him in close monitoring for few days and with the help of medicines, my father is improving now physically. During the 2 week stay at Care Hospital, VSP sir and his whole team paid a very special attention to my father, which he kept saying was the sickest TAVR patient he had operated on, given other multiple health complications my father has. I am a retired chemical engineer, Senior Scientist at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Visiting Professor at NIT Warangal, presently at Hyderabad. I underwent CABG at a reputed hospital at Chennai in 2002. When I tested TMT positive in 2021, I was advised to undergo PTCA by a senior cardiologist at Hyderabad by one of the 30 year old techniques. I was told one block could be removed but it would not be possible to address the other. When I consulted Dr V. Suryaprakash Rao garu at CARE, Banjara, he could, most amazingly, clear both the blocks by more advanced techniques. I found him to be affable, empathetic, patient and inspiring, in addition to being highly professional. In 2021, when other doctors were treating me from a distance, for fear of Covid, he was checking me with a stethoscope and patting me on the back to give me confidence. In 2023, my wife followed me with a PTCA, showing first signs of an unstable ECG on a Saturday night at 10PM. When I admitted her in the emergency ward, under the guidance of Dr Suryaprakash garu, he was watching her from home till midnight and on Sunday morning he was in the hospital to attend to her. But for his dexterous handling and treatment both at professional and personal levels, it would have been very difficult for her to become normal, which she became in a matter of a few days. I was highly apprehensive when leaving Chennai, wondering whether I get good medical attention, but now I am thankful to providence that we are in the safest hands possible. Icing on the cake is that he is very ably supported by his professional and highly helpful supporting staff, led by Shri Muneendra Reddy.
